What with summer rapidly approaching, bringing (hopefully) the sun into our lives for at least a few hours this year (I reside in the UK - say no more), there’ no doubt that Sony Ericsson have timed the pending launch of their new MS500 Bluetooth Speaker System particularly well.
Aimed at those looking to add their own carefully selected playlist as a little background to the up and coming summer months, the Sony Ericsson MS500 portable Bluetooth speaker system has been designed specifically for use with Sony Ericsson’s handsets but will additionally play ball by happily pairing with ‘most’ other Bluetooth handsets from other vendors (the MS500 supports A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles) and, thanks to the MS500’s durable splash proof shell should prove resilient to any accidental knocks, scrapes and spillages.
Set to become available in black and orange and white and pink color schemes, the Sony Ericsson MS500 portable Bluetooth speaker system, which is powered by 2 x AA allowing for up to five hours of tunes, should be along reasonably soon, however, at this stage, Sony Ericsson have (helpfully) not offered any official word concerning pricing or availability.

The Samsung Blue Earth phone is an amazing piece of technology that brings solar charging to mobile phones. However, the Korean company has bigger plans than simply fusing solar panels to the back of a handset. It intends to create an ecosystem of "green communication" with a range of accessories.
Recognizing that not every country has ready access to sunlight, a dynamo-powered charge is available to convert kinetic energy to electricity. The popular Bluetooth headset has also been given a solar makeover, though we do not know how long it takes to charge the device using the sun. These are currently concept models whose availability remains unknown at this time.
Windows Mobile 6.5 has had a complete re-design over previous versions with a new interface as well as a host of new features including an iPhone style application store called Windows Marketplace.
There is also a new service called MyPhone which lets users sync their data online, including contacts, medai files and sms, it does not include exchange for email.
New mobile phones featuring the new Windows Mobile 6.5 are expected to go on sale later in the year.

We took a look at the early Windows Mobile 6.5 build for the old HTC Blue Angel handset that was leaked yesterday. There's not a whole lot to see yet, but here's what matters:
- There is a new interface! Sort of! The typical 6.1 home screen is still present at times, but there appears to be an alternate, Zune-like menu too. It's glitchy for the time being, but it looks like a step in the right direction, and like it runs significantly more smoothly than many of the third-party interface layers out there (Yeah, I'm talking about you, TouchFlo 3d). There are also a few new element skins—namely a new dialer, finally. The keyboard doesn't get shown off, but I'd assume that'll be changed too.
- Zune integration is here, in a way. The aforementioned new menu doesn't just look and feel like the clean Zune UI we're all so used to, it contains icons for media playback at the bottom, including music and photos. Both had image previews in their entries, and there were specific music functions built into the first layer of menus. In other words, the default user interface for Windows Mobile will be usable as a media player.
- Intertial scrolling is everywhere now. This might seem minor, but the psychological impact of smooth interface movements is huge. Grids of icons can now be thrown around, as can the contact list and web browser (though we saw this in the Mobile IE6 emulator).

There are a few other new, minor features seen in the video, but it's unclear which of them belong to Microsoft, which to HTC and which to random third parties (this is XDA, after all). And as I said before, this is probably a very early build and not totally representative of the final product. However, if these few improvements are anything to go by, the user experience will be markedly improved for users of WinMo 6.5, especially on touchscreen handsets

The Palm Pre features a 3.1 inch multi touch display with a resolution of 329 x 480, and a built in full QWERTY keyboard, on top of that there is a built in accelerometer.
The Palm Pre runs Palm’s new webOS platform, has built in 802.11b/g WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera with an LED flash and 8GB of flash memory, there is also a wireless charger, which is pretty impressive, personally I hate wires.
From a first looks at the specifications and the new Palm webOS, the Palm Pre certainly looks like a very impressive smartphone, could the iPhone finally have some competition?
Adapters to reduce or eliminate the use of cables are becoming very popular. Over a year ago had seen the IDAPT I3, and now we have to have a new adapter, smaller and cheaper: the I2. As its name suggests, offers connectors for two devices at once. We must admit that it is not as elegant as the Messless, not as practical as wireless solutions, but for 35 euros, we can not complain.
It would be much better (and quite impossible) that all manufacturers would agree to use and allow a single cable. Sometimes we have never heard of miniUSB connector.
The designer HSDPA LG Prada II, which is widely expected to retail for (upwards) of £475 when it hits the streets, takes the form of a QWERTY slider with full keyboard and, apart from its 256K color, WQVGA (240×400 resolution) touchscreen TFT display featuring captive feedback also sports a 5 megapixe camera offering slow motion video capture (with DivX support) and, needless to say – as befits a designer cell phone (though not on all occasions, it has to be said) - it looks great, though quite whether the LG Prada II’s looks will, ultimately, be worth the price of admission is quite another issue.

Most of us still use ho-hum mobile phones. I don’t say that to be condescending but to create a distinction between most of the mobile concepts we feature - touchscreen pizazz, cameras with crazy megapixel counts, and form factors as thin as crisps. For the rest of us, we still use phones that came free with our carrier plans. Smaller screens, standard numeric keypads, and no fancy software for email and web browsing. Screen2 may just be for you.
Screen2 is a mobile phone dock essentially doubling to tripling your screen real estate. It extends your phone’s standard feature set to include email, web browsing, photo viewing, video watching, document browsing, speaker phoning, and AIM/MSN chatting all via touchscreen. Technically it COULD be used with smartphones like the iPhone or Blackberry but I see a much bigger boon with older mobile phones.

The most impressive part of this phone its the tiny projector affixed at its butt. By switching on the external display option, you can project movies or data loaded on this phone onto a wall.
This tech gadget is also loaded with lots of multimedia goodies, such as MP3 and MP4 players, 1.3mp Digital Camera, Image Viewer, Video Recorder, and rich media environment messaging options.
It’s also equipped with a micro SD card slot which provides the convenience for loading data onto the phone. The touchscreen interface and the iPhone-like OS allows easiness of operation on this phone.[gadgettastic]
We have seen plenty of leaked images for the upcoming clamshell-styled BlackBerry Kickstart, so I guess seeing an early hands-on report surface should not be all that surprising.
The crew over at CrackBerry were able to get their hands on RIM’s first venture into the world of the clamshell, and while the BlackBerry Bold and Thunder may be stealing some of the recent spotlight, it seems the Kickstart is going to be a solid offering.
A few items to point out is that the display is big, and although not quite the same quality as what is found on the Bold it was noted as “looks good.” The Kickstart 8220, as indicated by the number pattern will feature Wi-Fi, it also has the “next gen” SureType keyboard which was described as “massive” and easy to use, which sounds like it will be a nicer typing experience as compared to the Pearl.
The Kickstart 8220 also features the Pearl-style trackball, which in this case is set down a little further, most likely in an effort to keep it from rubbing the internal display, but it was noted as being a little trickier to use.
Otherwise the Kickstart will feature a 240 x 320 internal LCD, 160 x 128 external display and 2-megapixel camera. It will also include an external microSD card slot as well as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
So far it sounds very promising, lets just hope that it hits T-Mobile at that rumored price for $49.95

After some clarifications about the name of new BlackBerry. Now we have first live images of the BlackBerry Thunder and its touchscreen keyboard!!!
The first pics and screenshots we have seen of the BlackBerry Thunder have been awesome, but it's nice to finally have live hands-on photo evidence that the BlackBerry Thunder is REAL and it's working (of course, only time will tell for sure just how well!).
