CTA digital has launched an iPhone accessory for racing games, and has launched a new steering wheel accessory for the iPhone or iPod Touch.

The iPhone racing wheel features a suction cup on the bottom so you can stick it to your desk or a table, it comes with a bunch of adapters that make it compatible with the iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G & 3GS as well as the iPod Touch and iPod Touch 2G.

There is no word on pricing or availability as yet.

Here's a conceptual iPod dock that could possible make the manufacturers a ton of money if it was ever released - the E-Pod Dock that crams in a whole bunch of functionality. For instance, it plays nice with your iPhone, iPod touch and iPod classic by functioning as a speaker, movie projector and alarm clock. Regardless of its diminutive size, it still offers powerful hi-fidelity audio. We think one major problem with this concept is it cannot be too portable and ought to be within range of a power outlet at all times if you're going to take advantage of the built-in projector.

Sony Insider has happened upon some leaked images of the CMT-Z100iR mini-sound system, which, if real, suggest this respectable-looking system has an iPod dock, CD player and USB port to complement the 20w speakers. The device also has touch panel controls, a 3.5mm audio-in jack, bass/treble adjustments, AM/FM radio and a remote control. There is no firm release date or price, though Sony Insider seems to think it will fall in the $150-$250 range, which seems pretty decent for the feature set.

It's called SMule Ocarina, and it'll set you back a penny short of a buck. You just blow into the phone's mic, push the simulated holes on top, and look like a jackass. Since the iPod nano comes in a variety of colors, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise to think that a red iPhone 3G model could be in the pipeline for the coming holiday season. I myself would take such whispers with a huge pinch of sale, but if it were to be recruited under the (PRODUCT) RED campaign, then there is a very high possibility of the colored iPhone 3G handset being released then, in line with Apple's past policy of availing some of its products in the past to this campaign as well. Expect this to fetch a relatively high price in the second hand market if it ever gets released.

Most Glaring Nickel-and-Dime Omission: A Dock
Charlie White: Opening Apple’s gorgeous packaging, we suddenly wondered, where is the dock for the glorious iPhone 3G? Maybe it’s under this false bottom. Nope, not here. That’s OK, we’ll just use the dock from our old iPhone. Nope, no luck. I guess that's proof the iPhone 3G is bigger than its predecessor, since it doesn't fit… at all. Cold comfort, though, so we surf to the Apple Store, and what do you know? There’s the dock, the new one, for a steep $29. Add that to the $18 “upgrade fee,” the extra $10/month for 3G, the extra $5/month for 200 SMS messages, and pretty soon we’re talking about some real money.

Most Unsettling Error Message: "No SIM Card Installed"
Peter Pachal: I finally got my iPhone 3G activated Friday night. Saturday morning it welcomed me with the message "No SIM Card Installed." Unless someone broke into my apartment, tiptoed to my nightstand, removed the SIM card from my phone, and neatly replaced it (Batman is coming out on Friday), there was no way that message was accurate. A network-settings reset later, it was all good again … for about 3 hours. This time I actually checked to see if the SIM Card was in fact installed (it was), and gave it a good wipedown. Ever since, it's been working OK, but the "No SIM" message will forever haunt me…

Open up the iPhone to all developers, and here’s what you get: iRetroPhone, a clever but questionable application soon to be available in the iPhone App Store. Along with the realistically cumbersome experience of a rotary dialer, its sound effects are equally convincing.

The coolest iPhone Mod - iPhone gets a retro look [gadgettastic]

So the iPhone is capable of playing movies on it, but don't you sometimes wish you could share the current movie with someone else on a larger display? Honlai Technology has a solution in the form of a concept portable mini projector that was developed specifically for the iPhone (and iPod touch too, I suppose). There is very little information concerning all the other specifications, but it is interesting to see that Apple has succeeded in turning the iPhone into something more than a regular cell phone. This is one concept that I won't mind being sped up so that it can be a reality for iPhone fans.
