The 1Liaison Electric Hybrid Boat

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

Boating is fun, however if we wanted to use a speedboat greenhouse gases can be our big contribution to the nature. However, we should never be hopeless of experiencing speed boating and being eco friendly at the same time because designer Manuel Schneider has created the 1Liaison paddleboat that can also be enjoyed as an speedboat with the use of its built0in battery that supplies electricity. What’s more good news about this boat is that, the pedal of the boat is connected to a dynamo that will now recharges the battery and when you are tired of peddling, the electricity you earned can now be used for speed boating for a more relaxed boating experience.

Hyundai Thrust Fin

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

Hyundai Heavy Industries' (HHI) new vessel technology known as Thrust Fin, and when attached to a ship's rudder, it will boost thrust while saving fuel at the same time. To prove the credibility of such technology, HHI attached the Thrust Fin to the rudder of a 8,600-TEU container ship delivered to German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd in April. According to Hapag, this fin was extremely effective and they have already placed an order for half a dozen more such fins. Apparently, this fin will reduce fuel consumption by up tp 6% at best, and could result in an annual saving of up to $2.4 million in fuel expense.

A Lilypad For The Flood-Induced Apocalypse

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

The Lilypad Floating Ecopolis for Climate Refugees is a giant floating city that people can live on when the world floods Fbecause Al Gore was right. It looks weird but I reserved a spot anyways because I'll be damned if I live in a flooded house. Unless fish promised to swim around my legs while I watch TV, in which I'd consider it. Similar in concept to the Freedom Ship, this mammoth floater would likely cater to the rich. The architectures behind thFe design believe we'll need these things by 2100 because half of the world will have disappeared underwater. Or maybe just a third will be flooded, I forgot what they said. Maybe just my bathtub. The most unbelievable part about the whole thing? That they had the gall to include marine life in the picture! HA -- like they'll be anything alive in the oceans by 2100. I know, pretty depressing. Seriously though, I have to have sex with a mermaid before they're extinct.

Earthrace - Eco Friendly Boat, Powered by Human Fat

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

The Earthrace is one of the most eco-friendly boats ever made. It is powered human fat and will going to have a record-breaking attempt to go around the world using 100 percent biodiesel, and with a net-zero carbon-footprint. The Earthrace can carry 3,000 gallons of fuel and weighs 23 tons when full tanked.

Earthrace has many eco-friendly elements like the bio-diesel as fuel, parts are made form hemp composite, a new non-toxic antifoul, and its lubricants are made from vegetable oil. Another environmentally friendly elements of Earthrace are the bedding foam made of canola oil, bilge water is pumped through a special filters to remove oil or hydrocarbon and a recycled ice cream container is used during construction.

I am coming...

Man Builds Water Chopper

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

Jim Garlitz, a man who runs a pizza shop in Maryland, has combined a Yamaha Virago motorcycle with an outboard engine to create, uh, this thing, the water chopper. Capable of doing 37 mph, it looks like it was invented long ago and called the jetski. It also looks like I wouldn't want to get on it. Unless I was using it as a pirating vessel to rob all the stupid tourists that rent those floating big wheel bikes at the beach

Dutch claim world's first solar speedboat

Posted by EscapeDigitalMedia

Boats that run on solar power have been around for awhile, but they're usually reserved for touring watercraft and other conveyances designed for a leisurely pace. And that's precisely what makes the Czeers MK1 stand apart from the aquatic crowd.

This Dutch-made prototype is billed as "the world's first solar speedboat," which has reached speeds of up to 30 knots. The 10-meter boat was built by the Delft Technical University Solarboat Team, which rode it to first place in the 2006 Nuon Frisian Solar challenge, according to Gizmag.
