The BlackBerry Kickstart, also known as the Pearl Flip, says it all. This is the first clamshell handset from Research in Motion, and functions just like its candybar brethren from the Pearl line, albeit in a totally different form factor. The external display is used to preview incoming texts, emails as well as phone calls. Other features of the BlackBerry Pearl Flip include :-

• Light sensing external LCD display
• 240 x 320 resolution internal LCD display
• MP3 playback support
• Speaker Independent Voice Recognition
• Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
• SureType QWERTY keyboard
• microSDHC memory card slot
• Wi-Fi connectivity with support for UMA

No idea on pricing, but it will hit the markets this fall.

We have seen plenty of leaked images for the upcoming clamshell-styled BlackBerry Kickstart, so I guess seeing an early hands-on report surface should not be all that surprising.

The crew over at CrackBerry were able to get their hands on RIM’s first venture into the world of the clamshell, and while the BlackBerry Bold and Thunder may be stealing some of the recent spotlight, it seems the Kickstart is going to be a solid offering.

A few items to point out is that the display is big, and although not quite the same quality as what is found on the Bold it was noted as “looks good.” The Kickstart 8220, as indicated by the number pattern will feature Wi-Fi, it also has the “next gen” SureType keyboard which was described as “massive” and easy to use, which sounds like it will be a nicer typing experience as compared to the Pearl.

The Kickstart 8220 also features the Pearl-style trackball, which in this case is set down a little further, most likely in an effort to keep it from rubbing the internal display, but it was noted as being a little trickier to use.

Otherwise the Kickstart will feature a 240 x 320 internal LCD, 160 x 128 external display and 2-megapixel camera. It will also include an external microSD card slot as well as a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

So far it sounds very promising, lets just hope that it hits T-Mobile at that rumored price for $49.95

Arriva another update on Thunder Blackberry, cellphone for which RIM seems centellinare information, perhaps for groped increase hyphe around this model. The screenshots show yet the average player, with display of album covers and controls that we had already seen in this post and the screen of the camera.
Regarding the latter can see the interface very simple, with the main command bar transparent. It remains to discover whether any commands evolved (exposure shooting modes and so on) are activated by another menu or are totally absent.

After some clarifications about the name of new BlackBerry. Now we have first live images of the BlackBerry Thunder and its touchscreen keyboard!!!


The first pics and screenshots we have seen of the BlackBerry Thunder have been awesome, but it's nice to finally have live hands-on photo evidence that the BlackBerry Thunder is REAL and it's working (of course, only time will tell for sure just how well!). If the old saying that you can't believe everything you read holds true, then it must be doubly so for images you see on the internet. Such is possibly the case in the latest batch of leaked pictures doing the rounds on the old information superhighway. Lately (i.e. today) shots of RIM's new touchscreen phone -- the Thunder -- have surfaced showing off what's supposed to be a new version of the BlackBerry OS (4.7) running its media player. Now we're not saying these pics aren't really real, but what we are saying is that these shots look an awful lot like renders to us, and since no one can verify them beyond an "anonymous source," we're just going to recommend a healthy dose of you-know-what, okay?
