Barack Obama looked dapper as he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, but was that suit and coat he was wearing bullet-resistant? It's no longer necessary to wear metal plates or a thick Kevlar vest to repel 9mm slugs, so it's possible that the slim Obama had some of the new bullet-resistant material sewn into his elegant attire. According to Officer.com, he was indeed protected by such tech:
"Obama will wear bullet-resistant clothing, speak behind a protective glass shield and ride in the parade in the armored Cadillac limousine, with doors and windows so thick that he probably would survive a bomb blast, law enforcement officials said."
It's understandable that the Secret Service wanted one last level of protection in addition to that tank-like limo and all the other security at yesterday's event, but what's next? A bulletproof presidential helmet?
